PlayStation Now just got a whole lot more feasible for players without super-fast internet, as Sony is now letting users download full PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 2 games to their consoles to play offline through the service starting today.

Announced through the PlayStation Blog, almost all of the PS4 games available through the service will be available for download to play offline, as well as the PS Now lineup of classic PS2 games remastered for PS4. If you are a PS Now subscriber and don’t see the feature right away, don’t fret: it's being gradually rolled out over the next couple of days for all users.

PS Now games that subscribers download will support user-purchased DLCs, microtransactions, add-ons and PS4 Pro enhancements. PS Now subscribers don’t need a PlayStation Plus membership to play PS Now games online, which remains the same for both streaming and downloaded games.

Sony has detailed how transferring save data between games users began streaming, but decided to ultimately play offline will work - though they’ll need a PS Plus membership to do so. Sony did note that users will need to connect their PS4’s to the internet every few days to verify their PS Now subscription to play downloaded titles, but an always-on, super-fast internet connection won’t be necessary for this verification.

PlayStation 4 games on the service that can be downloaded and played offline include Bloodborne, God of War 3 Remastered, NBA 2K16, Until Dawn and much more.

Sony is currently running a summer price promotion for PS Now that ends September 25. This promotion offers a month of PS Now for $10 US for new subscribers, or a full year for $100 US. Current subscribers can get a discount on the three month pass for $30 US to add to their subscription.

Allowing users to download and play these titles offline effectively moves the PS Now service into a similar realm as Xbox Game Pass, though Microsoft is being a bit more aggressive with their service, announcing that all Microsoft Studios games will be available on the service day of release earlier this year. Recently, Halo: The Master Chief Collection was added to Xbox Game Pass.

Sony added PlayStation 4 games to PS Now in July of last year. Earlier this year, it was rumored that Sony would allow users to download full games, and that has proven to be true.
